Keeping them separate

IMG_8203

Since my parents and brother have been visiting… they have had some time to enjoy our boys separate.

I think after time siblings need breaks… at least my two boys do.

While Caleb was a pre-school Taite got dropped off to enjoy some time alone with everyone.

My parents are staying at a beautiful Bed and Breakfast in town called Big Mill. Its one of the top spots I use for my photography business. The grounds are just beautiful and the owner super sweet. She lets me have access to almost everything at the Bed and Breakfast for my shoots.. which is nice.

My mom has enjoyed the home made organic recipes served at the B&B for breakfast… Its right up her ally!

Taite enjoyed time playing with a wooden train in their room… some snack time eating raisins and some yummy orange juice. Then we enjoyed a walk around the ponds at Big Mill.

After we picked up Caleb from pre-school and had lunch I then let Caleb have his turn. Taite stayed at home with me and napped… while Caleb went with Nana, Papa & Kevin to spend the afternoon.

From what we were told he had a great time and was well behaved.

After naps we all hung out at the Big Mill until supper time.. then ordered a pizza for dinner. I of course had to be picky… and wanted lipton soup and raspberries haha… But it all worked out.

Below are a few more photos from the day… I only took my camera out there during Taites visit… so there are no photos of Caleb in this batch.

Isn’t it crazy to see resemblances in families? You are a practical spitting image of your mom and your brother is a dark-hair/dark-eyed version of your dad! Looks like fun times…it’s always fun at our house when Papa & Binga come to visit!

I agree that separating to have one on one time is good. This past summer, I went to the library with my 3 year old to pick up a prize from the summer reading program (her name got drawn, how cute!). I went alone with her and while we were there she asked to play Candyland. We have the game at home, but I have never had or taken the time to just play with her, without any other distractions. That made me want to do more with my kids individually. So, this post just reminded me that I will need to work that into my life.
And I also was going to say the same thing about the resemblance of you and your brother with your mom and dad, respectively. I have a friend that I think how her kids don’t look anything like either one of them (at least I can’t tell the difference yet). And then I started thinking that my sister and I don’t really look like our parents either (although my brother looks like my dad). Maybe some people could say the same thing about my kids…
Anyway, enough rambling. Glad to know you all are enjoying your time together.
