As you can tell – if you are reading this from a computer or ipad ;-) – Im pretty sure mobile users wont see the difference. I decided to change up the blog a tiny bit.
Ive wanted to make a clean almost totally bare header for some time. While I love showing off pictures of the kids and incorporating family portraits into the header – at times I feel it adds more work. Since they seem to be much more seasonal. Which is weird since im talking about seasons now.
I sat for a while trying to figure out a new slogan to go with my blog title… since I wanted more than just “my name” at the top. Truth be known the only reason my blog is even named “Drea Wood” – is because I purchased the domain at the same time I purchased www.andrea-wood.com to launch my photography site. I wasn’t sure if I’d use Andrea as my business name or Drea… so why not buy both, right? Once I decided to go with my full name for my business, I just had this empty domain sitting there… so I figured I would put it to use :) – and that is when I bore the blog Drea Wood.
I went with “Living in Seasons” because for the past 9 years of my life… that is what it feels like we’ve done.
From moving 7 times in 9 years – to the birth of 3 children – 3 different ministries – and just a lot of changes in ourselves as individuals as well as a family, couple…
The last 9 years have brought so many changes…
During this time in our lives I really feel as if we live day to day… unsure of what will come next.
Will we live here next year? I have no clue… will we serve in full time ministry within the next couple years? No idea… I know we will ONE day – but right now that doesn’t seem to be the season we are in. Where we are now is so different than where we were… that it really has taken time to get use to. To be the ones being poured into… rather than the ones serving and pouring ourselves into others… is just foreign for us.
… but needed.
Some days I wish we had a more defined agenda :) – but we just don’t.
What will come next?
We know some stuff that will happen… but we also have so many blanks waiting to be filled.
What we do know is that we serve an awesome God… who has our days laid out. He has a perfect plan for us… and while it may not be in the “timing” we would typically choose… or even want for that matter. We can rest in knowing God is sovereign.
The verse in my header is dear to me. It sums up life perfectly.
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ESV)
I have so much I want to share with those who read this blog… but for now I can’t.
What seasons may be coming… and others that will not.
In time… I hope we can share.

Beautiful Drea :-)
