Nana & Papa’s Christmas

This year we celebrated Christmas with my parents a few days after Christmas Day.

I think it worked out really well! We have never done things this way before… but this may be something we continue to do… Our kids were so excited to travel and visit… and it has made the holidays seem to last longer ;-)

Here are a few favorites from the 1st day…

We started with prayer and reading the Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke.
Owen led the prayer in this wee chair he found in my moms house.

He even tried to sit in the tiny white one ;-) – was so cute.

Thanks Nana & Papa for the great Christmas memories :)

Some highlights from Christmas Day

It has been a busy day after Christmas… and therefore this post will involve lots of pictures. :)

We had a great Christmas!

I think it went well, without overly lavishing the boys with gifts. Its so hard isn’t it? I know for me I struggle with the right amount to give our children at Christmas. I want them to get excited just like I was as a kid… but also want them to realize the real meaning of Christmas & not put to much emphasis on the whole gift thing… its hard tho when they are little. I think it may actually be harder for the parent than the kid :) – I don’t know about anyone else, but I love seeing my boys excited at Christmas. It really is fun.

That being said. We are so thankful for how the Lord provided for our family this year.

Without a steady income… and Travis having no full time work since July this year… we just weren’t sure how we could manage to do much. Because of a generous Sunday School class, that I am proud to admit adopted us :) – and our miles card, we had an amazing Christmas… but most of all we are just so thankful for where the Lord has placed us this Christmas. While it felt strange, surreal, bittersweet and amazing all at once… we cannot imagine life in any other place right now.

I hope everyone else had a great Christmas as well. Below are just random pictures throughout the day :)

It btw rained here on Christmas…
So our day was spent inside… which was fine, but the boys gifts mostly consisted of “outdoor” toys… so well, we decided to set one of those outdoor toys up, INSIDE :) – and it was a hit rain or shine.

A lot different

IMG_1314Yesterday, on Christmas Eve … we went to our church service here in GA… and I must say, WHOA… how different it was… but a good different.

I mean seriously… our church had snow.

INSIDE!

We got there over 30 minutes early, yet still barely got a seat. I heard through the grape vine there were over 8,000 people there… & as you can tell, most wore red ;-)

The boys did well during the hour plus long service. Even little Owen sat through it without any trouble.

We are so thankful for where we are.

Below are a few photos from yesterday as well as some video clips from the service.
(my videos btw do not do things justice!)

Owen before service attempted to scale the stairs :)

He eventually was contained.

The boys waiting for service to start.

This video shows the snow coming down….
Notice the man doing the sign language towards the back right.
For some reason the snow poured right onto him! Was so funny.

The Orchestra (we hear them every sunday!)

The boys cared nothing about taking a picture…

The did however enjoy opening a gift on Christmas Eve.

Who knew Jammies would be so exciting :)

& of course Whole Grain Monkey Bread for a snack & toy joy was fun, at 9:30pm
[thanks Jessie!]

& one last video… Owen Jamming during one of the songs.

Merry Christmas

Hope everyone is having a great Christmas Weekend :)

We are so thankful for this Christmas…

It has been so uplifting… humbling….

We can’t imagine feeling more blessed.

See this

See this bottle…

IMG_1236

I have no clue how ill break him of it!

He is our only baby who has ever been this attached to it…

I blame it on the fact he refused every and all pacifiers… so he found lots of comfort in holding this bottle… he loves it. I mean seriously…. LOVES IT. My only hope would be his blankie, which he also loves…

He also still refuses to take to a sippy. He just doesn’t like them. The only ones he does like are those that aren’t his ;-) – but you get him home and hand him one, no luck. I’ve even tried fancy straw cups and different style sippy cups. Neither one seems to satisfy him. He wants the nipple :)

It is what it is…

Owen…

He has an addiction.

That bottle.

Or maybe its that good raw milk ;-) – That btw is something I have yet to really blog about… I haven’t had the energy to open up a can of worms regarding milk safety. I will say this… its good :) & one day ill go there. Today is not that day.

Oh & one cup that Owen does like, is this one…

To bad it has no lid!
