I’m not sure what post number this is. I am sure somewhere on wordpress it tells me :) – but all I can say is wow does time fly.
2012?
This blog started in 2005… when I was just 21…
and Caleb was only a few months old.
Now he is over 7!
We are so thankful for how the Lord has blessed us this year.
2011 was filled with so many emotions its hard to even think back on at times.
But wow…. what a journey!!
We are so excited for what 2012 has to bring & pray that we will continue to grow.
Blessings everyone!
& for the sake of asking :) – does anyone have any 2012 goals?
I do!
but, ill save that for another day ;-)
There is a lack of internet connection where we are :)
however… it might be a good thing.
Time away with family is nice.
We’re enjoying it.
Blessings!! Hope everyone has a happy new year, if I can’t post til then.
This year we celebrated Christmas with my parents a few days after Christmas Day.
I think it worked out really well! We have never done things this way before… but this may be something we continue to do… Our kids were so excited to travel and visit… and it has made the holidays seem to last longer ;-)
Here are a few favorites from the 1st day…

We started with prayer and reading the Christmas story from the Gospel of Luke.
Owen led the prayer in this wee chair he found in my moms house.

He even tried to sit in the tiny white one ;-) – was so cute.

My mom made the coolest knitted angry bird hats btw, she is so talented!

Owen found it funny

Taite had bird format down! :)

Thanks Nana & Papa for the great Christmas memories :)
My mom sure knows how to make a house cozy…
Last year she didn’t set up much for Christmas, since they came to us & no one would be visiting them at their house. This year however we decided to come to them after Christmas… and so she felt the inspiration bug to make it cozy for her grandkids :)
& it is so nice.

She cooked us a meatless lasagna
(my mom eats no meat, only fish – which apparently doesnt count haha)
The kids ate well – so maybe I should try some meatless dishes ;-)

& she even hung lights outside!

Thanks Mom for making it so cozy!
More pictures to come….
It has been a busy day after Christmas… and therefore this post will involve lots of pictures. :)
We had a great Christmas!
I think it went well, without overly lavishing the boys with gifts. Its so hard isn’t it? I know for me I struggle with the right amount to give our children at Christmas. I want them to get excited just like I was as a kid… but also want them to realize the real meaning of Christmas & not put to much emphasis on the whole gift thing… its hard tho when they are little. I think it may actually be harder for the parent than the kid :) – I don’t know about anyone else, but I love seeing my boys excited at Christmas. It really is fun.
That being said. We are so thankful for how the Lord provided for our family this year.
Without a steady income… and Travis having no full time work since July this year… we just weren’t sure how we could manage to do much. Because of a generous Sunday School class, that I am proud to admit adopted us :) – and our miles card, we had an amazing Christmas… but most of all we are just so thankful for where the Lord has placed us this Christmas. While it felt strange, surreal, bittersweet and amazing all at once… we cannot imagine life in any other place right now.
I hope everyone else had a great Christmas as well. Below are just random pictures throughout the day :)

It btw rained here on Christmas…
So our day was spent inside… which was fine, but the boys gifts mostly consisted of “outdoor” toys… so well, we decided to set one of those outdoor toys up, INSIDE :) – and it was a hit rain or shine.
