This evening we met up with Kelly & her crew to enjoy a picnic out at a beautiful bed and breakfast in our town. While there I was going to attempt on taking some maternity pictures for Kelly. It was the least I could do for her photographing Owens birth.
I wish I had like 1 hour with Kelly and her family ALONE :) but those times are hard to find these days… with my having a newborn and Kelly being really busy preparing for her little ones arrival and so on. But alas I did not get an hour :) I still think I got her some sweet memories and I hope she likes them.
I cant wait for her little man to come :) He will only be like 1 month younger than Owen!
I did experience a 1st tonight… after snapping a few pictures we sat down to eat together… and as I sat down I pulled Owen out of his car seat… he was ready to eat… and as I pulled him out I felt something damp… I figured it was just pee… nope… SO MUCH FOR POOPING ON THE TOILET LOL, He had a MAJOR BLOW OUT!
I mean poop up his LEG! grosssss…. Glad I had my wet bag! :)
I got him cleaned up and put him in a clean onesie (I had in my diaper bag)… as the night progressed it got rather cold however… and I had no other outfit for him with sleeves or pants. So we had to improvise… and ended up putting Owen in Lydia’s shirt. Lydia btw is a 3 yr old little girl HAHA….
I must admit it made for a cute picture :) Owen in his pink leopard 4T shirt.
Check him out…

*Note: the thing near his eye brow I think was a seed or
something off the ground. Its not a birth mark or cut :)*
Heres a few more pictures from the evening that I thought were sweet…

I can totally tell Caleb has a crush on Anna :) its so adorable.
The above photo is missing one of Kellys kids… Lydia. She tends to linger behind with Mommy :)
I did snag a few photos of her by herself though. Shes so cute.

We had a great time as usual. Hope to do it again soon :)

More of Kellys maternity pics can be viewed HERE.
WORKING?!
…well im not sure id call it full fledged working.. well maybe so… but I sure did enjoy getting back behind my camera again in this way.
Yesterday I had my 1st session since my maternity leave back at 29 weeks…
I had this shoot schedule before Owen was even born… and grant it I thought Owen would come weeks early… which would of given me more recovery time before this session.. but it all worked out.
Owens only 3 weeks old… it was weird having to leave him for so long yesterday to do the session… but he made up for my lost time last night ;-)
I posted up photos from the session OVER HERE on my photo blog.
I have one more sessions this month (next weekend) and prob will be very limited in open spots … just because its a lot to take on with a newborn. Not so much the actual shooting time… but the time it takes to post process the images. Plus I feel kind of bad leaving hubby with all 3 kids some times… especially if he is really busy himself.
So if you are local and want a session let me know ASAP…
Oh & yesterday I did get a picture with Owen finally :)
The lady I photographed took it!
How adorable is he…

I had a feeling Owen wasnt going to do very well with portraits today :)
But I went ahead and gave it a try.
With him being SO GASSY… its hard to pose him and get him to lay unwrapped… he just prefers to be bundled up or held…
I did manage to get a few shots though of him asleep… didnt last long!! but long enough to capture :)
Hes so sweet… and even if I dont get a lot of pictures of him like this… at least ill have a few. Newborns loose that “curl” in their legs and body so fast…
He is exactly 7 days old today! I actually was probably in the process of “taking” these portraits at the same time last week I was “giving birth” to him :) so thats kind of neat.
Hes a sweetie… even if he is a bit gassy :)

To those curious how these were taken.
I set up a blanket on top of a bean bag seat in his crib by a window. Put a heating pad under the blanket to keep him warm, had a heater going as well beside the crib… then put a “womb” sound machine beside us.
I used a 5D Canon w/ the 50mm 1.8 at 2.2, ISO around 500.
Was nothing fancy :) but worked hehe.
Ive wanted to write a post all day sharing some more details from the birth… but with so many interruptions, and lack of sleep :) it just isn’t happening yet hah…
But I did want to share how much I have enjoyed having these pictures to look back on from the labor experience!
Kelly did such a good job capturing this special time!
If you’re going to have a baby… I dont care how modest you are, you seriously should consider having someone take pictures for you… and if all possible someone who knows how to use a manual SLR camera… so you dont have flashes going off all over the place.
Kelly did fantastic! and seriously by a certain point in labor you could care less who sees stuff :) especially if its another mom/friend who you know has seen it all herself.

To those curious Owen and I will come home sunday afternoon. We decided to take the full two days due to some nursing issues… this gives us some extra time with the lactation ladies and help if needed.
Travis is now home with the boys though. Thank you Glenda & Gordan for watching them all last night and today. And Thank you Mrs. Madeline for keeping them the 1st day as well as Aliesha & Tad who kept them yesterday afternoon.
And thank you to all the sweet comments we’ve gotten on the blog and our facebooks. I had over 175 emails after posting about the birth. I have enjoyed every single email and comment… the encouragement has been really sweet. Thank you!
I made it another week!
Week 35… that means only like 3-4 more weeks to go. If I make it 6 more I seriously will explode… there is no more room for baby… my stomach physically hurts lol… hes going to have to squish a few more organs or something if he wants more space, cause I can’t imagine poking out any more.
Affording to Babycenter.com baby is around 18-19 inches long… the length of some full term babies! He also weighs around 5-6lbs.
They say that most of the development is complete with the baby. The kidneys, the liver and in most cases the lungs. All thats left to do is let baby ripen and chunk up lol… aka gain weight.
I am still have contractions… often.
strong ones.
But with the midwife telling me I have a very irritable uterus… I try not to think about it to much.
I am just going to wait around til either my water breaks… or they come quicker than 5 minutes apart. Where as right now they were varied and if close together every 5-10 minutes apart.
A friend of mine whos a photographer in town wanted to test out a new location… we had A LOT of snow on saturday… and that day would of been ideal… I however was unavailable that day…. so we postponed things until yesterday.
Theres not much snow in the photos :) but it was still fun to spend time with the photographer and get some more belly photos for memories.
Shes dropping off the disc with all the photos later today… the ones posted are some she put up on facebook for me :)
