Back Safe

We made it back Safe.
We enjoyed our short pit-stop at my parents before heading back to GA.

My dad was out of town but my mom got to soak up the boys cuteness for one last evening.

The trip back was so long today though.

So thankful Taite did not throw up any more since last night… and our travels from my moms were fairly smooth, minus the normal “are we there yet” episodes and Owen protesting about his cute lil hiney hurting (in his own owee language).

I however am whooped!!

I think the night before did me in.
After getting to bed around 11pm – waking up at 1am to the puke-fest – then not getting back to bed til 2:30 – only to be slapped in the face twice by Caleb (who slept in my bed, so Travis could sleep by Taite, in case more puke happened) – Caleb does not sleep still – he is a wild sleeper! Add to that him bringing a portable alarm clock of my moms into bed, that went off at who knows what time! – and Owen waking up twice crying – by 7:30am when the house was awake, I wasn’t.

This pregnant lady is ready for bed tonight.

Notice the bump? I really think in some positions it just looks as if I ate a lot for supper. Standing up though it is an obvious “baby bump” – I HOPE :)

Glad we have Saturday to play catch up before Sunday… and next week begins my last week of being a mom with a husband who is home all the time – Travis starts his job May 14th… I really am not sure I am ready but I do know he is :)

Uneventful, not totally

While our trip has gone well… it has not been without its unfortunate events.

One of those being this….

Thankfully this flat happened after arriving at my friend Shannon’s. We had no clue it was even flat, until outside with the kids – and her neighbor noticed it. We were thankful for the timing. Travis was able to pump it up with our emergency pump and then head to SAMS. Where we had purchased the tires. They fixed it free of charge.

IMG_2678Another thing we have faced is Owen being slightly uneasy about sleeping in other houses. He has never traveled well in regards to this… but this trip for some reason he has been extra clingy at night.

Every single night I would have to lay down with him to get him to sleep. Which was fine… just time consuming. Instead of staying up late playing games with friends or family – I would be in bed waiting for him to fall asleep. Resulting in myself falling asleep too 95% of the time :).

I don’t really consider it bad though. Owen’s time as the baby is quickly coming to an end. I don’t mind it.

& of course no trip is complete without sick kids. Our two oldest seemed to have runny noses for some time – even before we came. It just got worse. Now I’m battling a stuffy nose as well as Owen. Although mine feels more like allergies than anything. Thankfully it has not affected the boys much at all.

Until last night.

Caleb came into our bedroom at my moms at 1am – and broke the news to us that Taite threw up. My immediate reaction to throw up is “a stomach bug…” – but this we weren’t so sure at the moment. Taite is hacking up a lot of flem… A very raspy cough – that we think is irritating his throat. He had no fever throughout this or prior. He threw up twice last night. The 1st time we didn’t witness obviously but Taite told us he was hiccuping or something when it happened and then the time we saw it happen, he coughed and then bleh it was let loose.

Taite all day seemed totally fine… That photo above was taken at like 5pm yesterday.

Can I just say one thing I have not grown use to as a mother, is dealing with throw up and poop.
I can handle a contained poopie diaper… but anything beyond that, is so hard for me.

Throw up is even worse.

The smell…
The look…
& the constant thought of that spreading through an entire house hold, seriously almost paralyzes me in fear. I think about it for days waiting it out. Which is why at 2:11am I was up just waiting to see if it “happens” again…

Taite zonked out after that 2nd episode and this morning seems totally fine.

I do believe it was associated to his coughing. Now lets hope the other two don’t have the same thing happen… since both sound pretty raspy this morning as well. The last thing I want is to shovel up puke in our mini van on a 5 hour trip back to GA.

On the road again :)

Soooo we’re on the road again.
Totally last minute trip (although we had it in mind – just not so soon) – Since Travis will start working May 14th – we knew this would be our last opt. to travel this year… once summer comes and he is in full swing with training – I just don’t think leaving will be an option for some time. Not to mention with the birth of the baby this fall… leaving after that doesnt really sound appealing either – since ill be tending to a newborn and 3 other kids. People can come see us then ;-)

So we are off to visit family and friends for the next 10 days or so.

We have lots of stops to make and a busy schedule… heres hoping we can do it and stay sane :) – relaxed and just enjoy the time away. So far things are well… the trip went well. As well as it can with 3 boys asking “are we there yet” 15x every 30 minutes hah… well at least 1 of those boys was.

If im scarce from the blog through the weekend its due to no internet signal at Travis’ dads. I hope to post an update by monday though :) – enjoy the weekend!

Lots in a day

I got some work done…

We had a blast at the Georgia Aquarium.

It was just a great day with the family… I am so thankful for those moments we can spend together.

& of course car ride crashes always result after days like today :)

Resulting in adorable cuteness with a dash of milk on the chin.

Tall

Since we had cows yesterday we may as well talk about the horses today :)

Also on our trip to NC, Travis’ sister invited us out to see her daughter Kelly riding her horse. Well, not her horse, but a horse she has been able to use and learn with.

These were Clydesdale horses and boy were they tall!

All 3 of our boys had the chance to ride :) & loved it.

I however kept my distance, since a few years back I realized I had an allergy to horses… strange huh? – oh the wonders and perks to having kids, each kid I develop a new allergy it seems and a larger foot size, hah…

Enjoy!

That is Kelly (Travis’ youngest niece) riding.
