2 Families

We had dinner with our friends the Boggs.

Our two families alone sure do fill up a table. I think they did most of the filling though, haha.

Lets just say we are thankful that our neighbor Jessie loaned us paper plates. :-)

Thankful for great friendships ;-)

& good food too!!

View the Pictures I did for the Boggs yesterday too HERE.

Coasted :)

IMG_5518Taite this year in school has coasted.

Our doing of course… we knew he just wasn’t ready… and although we had intentions of doing more with him… I can totally tell and understand why public schools don’t allow kids under 5 to start kindergarten. He just was not ready for a huge work load.

Taite turned 5 late Dec… so at the beginning of the school year he was still 4. We pushed him to do some kindergarten work, but it was never overly stressed.

Theres time still :)

Since turning 5 you can totally tell a difference in his ability to do things. He is picking it up really fast.

Its fun to see.

With schooling next year we may mix things up a bit.

Adding in Sonlight…. with Abeka.

There are aspects of Abeka we love… but a lot we don’t love.

I think mixing curriculums can be beneficial. I look forward to the changes, although parts of it makes me nervous too ;-) – especially since next school year, more than likely Travis will be working full time… and I will be staying with the boys 100% again. Good thing I have summer to re-adjust myself, hehe.

Peeeee

Owen about 5 months ago learned the word Pee.

However, he thinks Pee is in relation to being naked :) – That I give thanks to his brothers, who when Owen would get naked, would say “PEEEEEE” ;-) poor confused Owen.

None the less. I have been debating potty training Owen for some time.

After all, Taite was trained at 21 months… so Owen should be able to do it.

Right?

Well…

I am learning and firmly believe EVERY KID DOES THINGS DIFFERENTLY. From the way they learn to speak, eat, sleep, and even pee :) – no kid is alike.

taitepotty

Owen will turn 2 in like a month… and I just find myself comparing him with Taite, and thinking “he should be doing this” – but its so wrong of me.Caleb was 26 mo. before he was trained. Taite was in a big boy bed by 16 mo… Caleb was over 2. Owen is almost 2 and still in a crib. Caleb used a pacifier til 1, Taite almost 2… and Owen not at all.

Every child is so different.

I have tried putting Owen in undies for hours at a time… and while that boy can stay dry for 2-3!! he does not grasp the concept of using a toilet at all. Our current house also has carpet… our old house had all hard woods :) – lets just say, training a toddler without carpet, is much less stressful.

So… all that being said.

Im waiting :) – for now.

While Id love to be done with the diapers on Owen… I dont want to stress myself or him out, by pushing it to soon.

So heres to being patient :) – waiting a while longer… and praying and hoping he trains as easy as the other two, just maybe not as early as Taite ;-) – who btw I did Infant Potty Training with. Which I really do believe helped him grasp things at a much earlier age.

For now Owens cute big boy undies will wait.

Our Chilly, Wet yet relaxed Valentine

Sweet boys excited about their valentine gift.Valentines Day went well.

I woke up to 3 sweet boys excited about their simple Valentine Gifts. I got them small glass coca-cola cups. Travis and I have the big ones and drink out of them all the time (with water of course) – and so I thought it be cute if the boys had matching ones. Plus for a $1 you couldn’t go wrong. I then put in each cup a PEZ dispenser sporting the boys favorite “CARS” figuring… and a few extra packs of PEZ to go with it. The Dollar Tree btw rocks.

For $6.00 you would of thought I spent a fortune :) – they were so excited over it. I also grabbed up some CAR stickers one day earlier while grocery shopping for like .88 cent. So it went well with the theme.

Breakfast consisted of heart shaped whole grain pancakes w/ chocolate chips of course ;-)

My Kitchen table has a beautiful arrangement of tulips that are beginning to bloom… once they open ill snag a pic :) – and a sweet box of chocolate and note as well.

Although the day was really wet… lots of rain and cold… it didn’t stop us from heading out later on in the day. Where we enjoyed frozen yogurt. They have an awesome sorbet w/ fresh fruit… and it all is reasonably priced.

Its a sweet treat for the entire family.

Heres a few snap shots from the evening out.
