Oh, and a little bit of looney toons too :)
(sorry for the grainy pic, cell phones dont do the fun justice)

My crafty side needs waking

IMG_1731I must say. I feel as if I am in a home school rut! While we get it done, it has been less than enjoyable some days.

I feel so rushed between what I have to get done regarding cooking, house work, business, church stuff, and whatever else comes up, chiropractor apts (ohh how ill miss those when our insurance runs out), lunch dates with so and so, library runs, blah blah blah… its just hard some mornings to concentrate at the task at hand.

Im working on it.

I am finding the pile of laundry has to wait.

Or the sink full of dishes, that DRIVES ME BANANAS.

The cloth diapers sitting in the wash, needing to be hung…

My own face needing a good wash :)

You name it. Theres always lots to do.

I will say though… that on mornings I do pour a little bit more of myself into the schooling.. rather than just gritting my teeth and getting through the day… that the precious smiles… and fun the kids have are well worth the effort. I love seeing them learn.

Owen I will say, has been the biggest time bomb for me lately.
He has resulted in our schedule altering a good bit.
Less down time for me during naps, and more schooling for Caleb during that time.

A sacrifice for sure…
So to anyone who thinks home schooling is done lightly…

Know that it takes a huge commitment… I give up any free time I would have, had my kids attended a public school… Its hard. But so worth it.

It really is a privileged to be the one teaching my boys…
With them day after day… as much as I miss some of my freedom… I cant imagine it any other way.

Not ours, but we share :)

It is so nice living next to generous neighbors.

Its as if its ours, but not really :)

Our neighbors have a cute play set, and Owen adores it. We find him often in the small sandbox under it, just digging away.

We do contribute back too ;-) – we share our trampoline.
It may as well be theirs too.

Clutter Fridge

I admit… our fridge tends to get messy at times.
Not as bad as it use to be ;-)

But still messy.

It is however a great place for reminders… and art work display.
& since I cant hang anything on the walls while we live here, I may as well make use of the magnetic surface :-D

34 w/ Flipflops

IMG_9807Sunday – the 30th, we woke up to temps around 34 F… chilly, with a slight frost on the windows and grass. It was cold… and here I was with no shoes that fit, besides a pair of keds, black high heel boots and my uggs. While those shoes may have worked… I was wanting something different. The idea of walking around the church again in my black heel boots was not appealing. It results in sore calves ;-) … my uggs while comfortable and oh so warm, I really don’t care to wear them to church on a sunday morning… So I went to church in my flip flops. I doubt that was a fashionable statement, but minus the fact my toes were frost bitten ;-) – I was comfortable.

While in Sunday School this cute mom in our class had on a pair of boots with leg warmers! I was immediately intrigued and after worship I asked where she got the leg warmers. She told me Target – and from there my search began. I also heard from a friend back in NC that she found some great boots at RUE 21. A store I had never heard of until moving here – our town just so happen to have one right beside walmart.

So I was on a mission.

To find some comfortable, casual, yet stylish boots.
As well as some cute leg warmers.

and… I am proud to say, for once I was successful in my search :)

& found these…

The Boots came from Rue 21. Heres a link (except mine are in the brownish color, not black)

The Leg Warmers were from Target for $7. I was unable to find a link online. But they were right by the $2.50 socks at Target. They had these in a couple good earth tones. Great texture and very warm.

I have worn these for days now and LOVE THEM.

So comfortable.

The jeans to those curious are also from target. Ive had them a while now. I got them for $15 – they are called JEGGINS hahaha, BUT THEY ARENT LEGGINGS… they are just a little stretchier than regular jeans, which actually IMO makes them more comfortable. The top I got on clearance about a month ago from Old Navy for $5.

To those who don’t follow me on facebook, my closet was in need of shoes :) – my foot grew yet again after the birth of Owen.. so none of my shoes, except those stretched out keds and flip flops fit. I purchased my UGGS and High Heel dress boots after I had Owen.. but that was it, as far as shoes go. I still have no sneakers for walking or running. I just use flip flops still… shameeee ful :)
